We are seeking someone with:

A high degree of technical competency and critical thinking design

This role will include the ability to program, commission and support automation and software systems. Diagnose malfunctioning electrical, automation and software systems as required and repair and/or modify them as required.

Effective project planning & management

The ability to manage jobs and projects where required which may or may not include managing and/or supervising other software or automation staff and liaising regularly with the customers, suppliers and their representatives.

Values continuous improvement

Participation in formal and informal training and self-learning both during business hours and, where necessary to meet the business’s needs, outside of business hours.

Qualifications & Skills Required:  

Demonstrated experience in a range of PLC’s and HMI’s, with extensive experience in at least two of the following brands:

  • Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley
  • Schneider Electric
  • Siemens
  • Fatek
  • Beijer Electronics
  • Omron


Demonstrated experience in a range of SCADA platforms with extensive experience in at least one of the following:

  • Clear SCADA (Geo SCADA)
  • Ignition SCADA
  • Citect SCADA
  • FactoryTalk View SE
  • Wonderware

Demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Basic ethernet networking
  • Use of virtual machines

Formal qualifications are not strictly required if evidence of experience as stated below can be provided and corroborated.

  • A TAFE or equivalent certificate or diploma from a recognised training provider in IT, Programming, Computers, Electronics may be beneficial.
  • A tertiary qualification from a recognised training provider in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, IT or Electronics Engineering would be beneficial but not strictly required.
