We are thrilled to share that I2R had the privilege of participating in the incredible Girls Can Too! program, organised and delivered by the Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) program within Training Services NSW. This innovative program aims to introduce female high-school students to careers in traditionally male-dominated trades and connect them with trade employers.
At I2R, we firmly believe in promoting diversity and inclusivity within our industry. As part of the Girls Can Too! program, we had the opportunity to host a visit with students from 3 local High Schools, where we showcased the exciting career opportunities available in our field of expertise – electrical, automation, and control.
During the visit, our team Matt Gelch, Dean Spratt, Michael Johns and Matthew Quarisa, shared insights into our industry and encouraged the students to consider a career in our sector. It was truly inspiring to witness their enthusiasm and curiosity as they explored our state-of-the-art facility, witnessing firsthand some of the latest innovations in electrical engineering and automation technologies.
By participating in the Girls Can Too! program, we not only had the chance to connect with our future workforce but also played a crucial role in empowering young women and breaking stereotypes. We are proud to contribute to a more diverse and inclusive industry by encouraging these bright minds to pursue their passions fearlessly.
At I2R, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that promote gender equality and provide equal opportunities for all. We are grateful to Katie Friedlieb, Senior Project Officer at Training Services NSW, for reaching out to I2R and recommending our facility as a great place to showcase to the group of young female students participating in the Girls Can Too! program. Katie, along with her colleagues Brad Seaton and Stacey Suidgeest, recognised the potential of I2R in fostering career pathways and connecting industry representatives with high school students. We are thankful for their thoughtful recommendation and the opportunity to be a part of this important initiative.
Together, let us continue to inspire and empower the next generation of female leaders, creating a future where talent knows no gender boundaries.
